Manage Channel

It is important to understand how to manage your Channels. This is where you will create, edit, and remove each of your Channels.

Table Settings

Table settings allow you to preset your table with only the most relevant columns to you. You can remove or add data fields as well as reset to default display of all columns set for your account.

  • Note: the customizations are unique to each individual and updates are not reflected for others in the organization.

To Remove:

  1. Click the gear icon

  2. Toggle the columns you no longer wish to appear

  3. The settings will be automatically save and appear each time you log in

To Add:

  1. Click the gear icon

  2. Toggle the columns you want to add

  3. The settings will automatically save and appear each time you log in

Default Settings:

  1. Click the gear icon

  2. Toggle the Reset to default button

    • Note: Reset to default will revert back to the organization Settings

  3. The settings will automatically save and appear each time you log in

Sort

Categories in the Channel table can be sorted by ascending, descending or table default order.

To Sort:

  1. Click the arrow button for desired Channel heading

  2. Select Ascending, Descending or Table Default Order Option

Filter

Use a filter to narrow down to a specific subset of Channels.

Channel Status: The status of each Channel

  • Active Channel: the Channel is active and is in use

  • Awaiting Contributors: no videos have been completed and uploaded into the Channel

  • Ready! Make Active: videos have been received and ready for review. Once reviewed, the Channel can go live

  • Updates Ready - Please Publish: changes have been made to the Channel configuration (ie new videos added, prequalify questions, widget configuration etc). Take action to review and republish the change

  • Inactive Channel: the Channel is no longer active

  • Not Yet a Channel: the job role exists in your ATS but has not been created as a Channel

  • No Longer Live in ATS: the job role is no longer an active role in your ATS system

Owner

Filter to see all Channels owned by a specific user.

To filter:

  1. Click the filter button on desired column

  2. Select your filter options

  3. Click Ok to filter or Reset to return to original defaults

Active

The active column gives you quick access to publishing, updating, and deactivating your Channels. Each time a change is made to the Channel configuration the Channel needs to be refreshed. When a Channel has updates the refresh icon will become active.

To publish Channel:

  1. Identify Channel to publish

  2. Once all settings have been configured the Publish button will appear

  3. Click Publish button

Each time a change is made to the Channel configuration the Channel needs to be refreshed.

To refresh Channel:

  1. Identify Channel with updates

  2. Click the refresh icon

    • Note: it’s important to review Channels that display the refresh icon to ensure desired changes are published

To make Channel inactive:

  1. Identify Channel to make inactive

  2. Toggle the Channel to inactive

If you create a Channel you no longer would like to use you can archive the Channel so that it’s not in your Channel table display.

To archive Channel:

  1. Identify Channel to archive

  2. Click the Recycle icon

    • Optional: toggle the Show archived channels in bottom right corner to see full list of archived channels.

    • Note: archiving a channel also deactivates it if its live; you will still be able to filter by archived channels in Content Library and Talent, if any videos or candidates arrived from that channel

To unarchive a Channel:

  1. Toggle Show archived channels

  2. Identify Channel to unarchive

  3. Click the clock icon

Quick Links

Distribution Link: the link to the live Channel. The Channel must be live to copy and access.

Preview: the link to preview the Channel. Submissions will not be recorded in Preview Mode. You can generate the Preview by publishing the Channel or Generating the Preview in the Channel settings. This should be used during the review process to keep analytics clean.

Download QR Code: download a QR code for an individual Channel

Note: This will download an SVG file. If looking to include the QR code in a PowerPoint or slides deck you may want to convert to a jpg or png file.

To Subscribe:

  1. Identify Channel to subscribe to

  2. Click megaphone icon

  3. Check box next to each event and notification type you’d like to receive

Name

The name entered into the Name column will display in the title for the Channel widget and Company Feed.

To update Name:

  1. Click Channel name box

  2. Enter your desired Name

    • Note: If your ATS is integrated with Wednesday the Name column will automatically be prefilled with your available job roles. You can choose to rename a column if desired.

  3. Refresh Channel if change is made after Channel has been published

Builder

You can easily build and customize channels to suit your needs. The first time you open the builder for a new channel, the Video Selector will open. You can select multiple Videos, and they will be sorted according to their prompts and a Channel with default styles will be generated.

Important: After you are finished making changes, be sure to Republish your updated Channel.

Channel Build

Add Videos

To add Videos to your Channel:

  1. Click the Channel Builder

  2. Click on the Video(s) you want to include in your Channel

    • Optional: search for Videos in the Search Videos box

    • Optional: Filter by available options

  3. Click desired filter

  4. Select data point for the dropdown

    1. Repeat i & ii until all desired filters are set

      b. Click the Add # Button

Channel Name

You can change the Channel name display.

To Change Channel name:

  1. Click the pencil icon in the right hand screen next to the Channel Name

  2. Enter the new name

  3. Click checkmark icon

Adjust labels

You can relabel multiple fields in your Channel display.

  • Note: this will only affect this Channel and not adjust specific attributes of the original Videos.

To change labels on Videos or Contributors:

  1. Click the desired pencil icon next to the text you wish to adjust

  2. Enter the updated display text

  3. Click checkmark icon

Add Additional Videos

To add additional Videos after the initial Channel is created:

  1. Click + Add Content to select more Videos for the Prompt

  2. Select desired Video(s)

  3. Click add + button

Reorder

You can rearrange and reorder both your videos and your Content

To reorder:

  1. Click the Video or Prompt you want to move

  2. Drag and drop into the desired order

    • Note: you can also move Videos from one Topic into a different Topic by following steps above

Add New Topic

To add new Content after the initial Channel is created:

  1. Click + Add Topic to select more Videos for the Topic

  2. Click the pencil icon to name your Topic

  3. Click + Add Content

  4. Select desired Video(s)

  5. Click add + button

Delete Video or Topic

You can remove a Video(s) or Topics for a Channel once they have been added.

To delete:

  1. Click the trash can icon next to the Topic or Video you want to remove.

Settings

Channel Info

You can edit the Channel Name under the Channel Info box

Channel Type can designate what type of Channel you are creating (Internal, Recruiting, Employer Brand, DE&I, ERG, Social)

Options

Channel Conversion represents what action you want your audience to take after they engage with your content.

Update Channel Conversion:

  • Select preferred Channel Conversion from dropdown list.

  1. Redirect Candidates to alternate page will allow you to send them to a desired page. This is often used to direct back to the external job req on your career site.

    1. Select the desired Call to Action from the dropdown list

      1. Options include: Free Text, Apply, I’m Interested, Learn More, or Schedule a Call

      2. Enter Alternative page URL of the page you want to direct them to

  2. No conversion (view-only Channel) will have no Call to Action. It will just be a viewable Channel.

Cover Image

The still image that appears at the beginning of the Channel

To Change Cover Image:

  1. Select from the preset list of options or click Upload to add a custom image

Branding

The branding of the Channel will automatically default to the company branding settings. You can set Channel specific branding (logo, page color, and accent color).

Channel Specific Logo will only display on this Channel.

  1. Click Upload button

  2. Select logo

Page Color will set the background color of the page.

  1. Click Choose Color button

  2. Select desired color

Accent Color will set a banner color

  1. Click Choose Color button

  2. Select desired color

Widget Configuration

If your organization uses the Wednesday widget, this section directs which webpage the Channel should appear on within your site.

  • Note: additional set up is required to enable the Wednesday Widget.

To add Widget Configuration:

  1. Enter the URL into the URL to display Channel box

  2. Click Save button

    • Note: You can add multiple URLs to the same Channel but it would restrict analytics split out by specific pages

    • Note: Each URL can only be used on at most 1 Channel

To delete Widget Configuration:

  1. Click the trash can icon next to the displayed URL

Publish Updates

Once all settings have been configured or each time a change is made after the Channel has been published, the Candidate App needs to be refreshed.

  1. Adjust settings

  2. Click Generate Candidate App

Preview

Directs you to a preview of the Channel so you can review the setup and make changes to an already published Channel without committing to the update. Using the preview also allows you to view the Channel without any analytics being collected.

View

View: directs you to the live Channel; analytics will be collected when you use this view.

Channel Distribute

Channels are easy to distribute to your audience. You have multiple ways to share a Channel.

Direct links to specific sources are available under Share. You have options to get a direct link for LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook or Job Board/Career Site. Using specific links allows your analytics to be separated by source.

To share link:

  1. Identify desired source

  2. Click Copy Link

  3. Paste Link in the correct location

Personalization

You can send a Channel with a personalized message. This is great for engaging with candidates or prospects.

To personalize a Channel:

  1. Enter Recipient's name into the Recipient box

  2. Enter Sender Name into Sender Name box

  3. Enter Sender Title into Sender Title box

    • Optional: Enter your custom message into Message box

    • Optional: Click Create New Personalization button

    • Optional: Copy link to share

      1. The number of impressions the Channel receives will display next to Impressions.

To delete Personalized Channel:

  1. Click the delete button next to Personalized Channel

Channels Metrics

You can graph the performance of your Channel.

Available Metrics

Channel Impressions: Count of unique sessions shown on a channel

Channel Interactions: Count of unique sessions that interacted with a channel or widget

Video Impressions: Count of unique sessions that started any video

Video Completes: Count of unique sessions that completed at least one video

Conversions: Count of unique sessions that clicked the Call To Action

Interaction Time: Median time between first and last interaction, per unique session (excludes sessions with only 1 event). Note: sessions will expire after 30 mins of inactivity.

To Graph:

  1. Click toggle on for desired data point(s)

Owner

The owner of the Channel is automatically subscribed to new candidate and video submissions. The owner has edit permission to any owned role.

To Change Channel Owner:

  1. Click the owner icon

  2. Enter email address of new owner

    1. The owner must be a user within the account.

    2. To create a new user go to Settings → Users

  3. Refresh Channel if change is made after Channel has been published

Channel Launched

The date the Channel was published.

Last Updated

The date the Channel was last updated.

Best practice is to review all Channels that have not been updated in more than 6 months to confirm videos are still up to date and accurate
